Spring Flower Dress

In December I posted about how I was going to a Christmas party and wanted to make my dress.  I got really discouraged when the corset I made did not cinch me at all.  So I set the project aside and wore a dress I already had.

But then I got a gift card to Joann's for Christmas and I decided I would do SOMETHING with the corset. I wanted something Victorian bustle inspired.  Something with flowers.  And something to celebrate Spring.

I went shopping and gathered up some fabric for a skirt, a crazy amount of flowers, and some hotfix crystals. 

This is the finished costume:

 My cat, Shadow, jumped in the picture, so I had to make him a star.  He is just too shy not to take advantage of the situation :)  Plus he's adorable.
