I really wanted to try something different, and was provided with the perfect inspiration when I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy.
Bald and blue headed? Sign me up.
I cannot even describe the color problems I had with this costume. They literally don't make leather in the color she has on in the movie. But I got as close as I could.
I started by drafting a pattern.
And the patterns for the metal arm. I used Worbla and craft foam to make these.
This time it worked.
The black line is the sharpie line I drew around what needed to be cut. FYI I don't recommend leaving the black showing, it showed a bit through my Ben Nye makeup :/
The costume waiting to be put on. I had to have my Mom help me into this costume, even then it was really difficult. I have come to the conclusion that I can never live alone. That or I need to hire a personal dresser.
And the final pictures!!!
I love this costume, and though it was a pain to get into, I really want to wear it at Winter Comic-con.
Hi there! I'm sorry, but I draft my patterns using scrap fabric and I don't keep them. For the armor pieces you could blow up the pictures I have here, (as I took pictures of the patterns I used) but for the body suit I don't have a specific pattern anymore. Yaya Han has a great body suit pattern (http://cosplay.mccall.com/m7217-products-49904.php?page_id=5767) that you could possibly modify for Nebula.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck; sorry I couldn't be more helpful! If you do make the costume, I'd love to see the pictures!
